A side-scrolling collectathon

​Joeney is a 3d platformer game made in 4.5 weeks to a brief of cheating where the main mechanic has to aid the player while bypassing the rule of the game.

I made this mechanic show and hide walls to aid the player to help reach goals and areas the player may want to reach but also made the level that the player does not need this mechanic to win.

Delivery service's story

You play as a young witch whose job is to deliver letters and packages, you fly around multiple areas to fly to each location to deliver your packages and any letters you may collect on the way

What i did

I worked on the design, level, mechanics and programming side of the game while the artist did the story. I programmed and set up each map background to parallax, obstacles randomly generating at different highs and lengths based on values i can customise to vary the gameplay as well as menues and player/obstacle movement.

 

Features I'm most proud of

i am most proud of first programming and building the game in engine within the first time limit (5 days) as well as the teams communication to get everything needed done and in the game quickly and efficiently. 

What i learnt

I learnt a good and quick way to create randomly generating obstacles that change generated position, how to make a paralaxing background that is endless as well as a well-tuned audio manager (pun intended) that can host every sound effect and have other scrips pull from the audio manager script to use the sound needed and have control over volume through the settings menu
